Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 is seeking a Part-time Paraeducator to provide instructional support in special education classes, contributing to the educational success of students. This role requires a High School Diploma and additional qualifications related to special education.
The candidate must possess effective communication skills and basic computer knowledge. Essential duties include assisting students and following directives. Certifications in CPI and SCM are also expected.

Schedule: 5.50 Hours/Day (7:30 am-1:00 pm), Monday-Friday 185 Days/Year

The paraeducators assigned to special education classes or programs provide instructional support to the teacher (instructional leader) and students and are under the general supervision of the Program Supervisor of Special Education.
The strength and ability to lift and/or assist in lifting students ranging in age from pre‑school to twenty‑one and any assistive appliances, for example: wheelchair. The ability to physically restrain students in emotional stress by using the Crisis Prevention Institute Training (CPI), Safe Crisis Management (SCM) or Quality Behavior Supports (QBS) method, depending on program need, for which training will be provided. Must be able to contextually run/sprint after/to an eloping child and be able to help a learner off the floor should they drop to the floor under their own power.
