Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 is seeking a part-time paraeducator for special education support in Manheim, Pennsylvania. This role requires a High School Diploma and effective communication skills.
The paraeducator will assist teachers and program administration, providing crucial support to students in special education settings. Applicants must meet specific certification and training requirements, including CPR/First Aid and Crisis Prevention qualifications.
Part-time Schedule: 5.50 Hours/Day (8:15 am-1:45 pm) Monday-Friday, 185 Days/Year. Minimum Salary: $18.90.
Purpose Of Position
The paraeducators assigned to special education classes or programs provide instructional support to the teacher (instructional leader) and students and are under the general supervision of the program Supervisor of Special Education.
As a paraeducator in special education, provide instructional support under the supervision of the teacher and program administration. Support the instructional program and students as assigned.
Education Required: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency.

Other requirements: As required by the PA Department of Education, each school year provide evidence of 20 hours of staff development activities related to the position. Pro-ration will apply based on date of hire within the school year.
Skills Required: Verbal communication skills and the ability to follow directions.
Computer Skills: Basic skills related to data entry, internet/email usage, word processing, and spreadsheets.
Certification Desired: CPR/First Aid/AED
Certification Required: Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), Safe Crisis Management Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (SCM) or Quality Behavioral Solutions: Safety-Care Crisis Prevention (QBS), as directed by program needs.
The strength and ability to lift and/or assist in lifting students ranging in age from pre-school to twenty-one and any assistive appliances, for example: wheelchair. The ability to physically restrain students in emotional stress by using CPI, SCM or QBS methods, depending on program need, for which training will be provided. Must be able to contextually run/sprint after/to an eloping child and be able to help a learner off the floor should they drop to the floor under their own power.
