Job summary

Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE) invites applications for Para Educator Severe in the Counseling Enriched program across Stanislaus County, CA. This part-time role supports instruction for severely handicapped students, with 3-6 hours per day, 182 days per year.

Applicants must have a high school diploma and meet certification requirements. Initial salary placements are restricted to a maximum of Step 3 on the CSEA Salary Schedule for external candidates.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• SCOE Para Proficiency Test certificate required or substituted by other approved certificates/transcripts.

Responsibilities

• Assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to severely handicapped students in a classroom.
• Monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance.
• Assist students in developing self-help, social and community skills.
