Job summary

Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE) seeks a Para Educator Severe to support the AUTISM-SCHOOL AGE INTEGRATED PROGRAM. The position serves 3–6 hours per day, up to 182 days a year, across Stanislaus County school sites in CA.

Under supervision, you'll assist a certificated teacher with instruction for severely handicapped students and track progress in behavior and performance, with emphasis on self-help, social, and community skills.

Qualifications

• Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and some experience in working with children or individuals with disabilities.
• The following certificates can substitute for the SCOE Para Proficiency Test: NCLB/ESSA Test certificate, CBEST, or transcripts showing minimum of 48 college units or AA Degree or higher.

Salary: Pay Range: $22.40 - **$27.44 Per Hour

Additional Salary Info: Range 7, CSEA Classified Regular Salary Schedule. Initial salary placement is restricted to a maximum of Step 3 ($24.95) for external candidates.

Length of Work Year: 3-6 hours per day, 182 days/10 months

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

SCOE Para Educator Severe Application EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and some experience in working with children or individuals with disabilities. CERTIFICATES & DEGREES: This position requires the SCOE Para Proficiency Test certificate. The following CAN be substituted for the SCOE Para Proficiency Test: NCLB/ESSA Test certificate from Stanislaus County, CBEST, or transcripts showing minimum of 48 college units or date AA Degree or higher level degree was awarded (transcripts can be unofficial). PLEASE ATTACH A COPY TO YOUR APPLICATION. The following are NOT required at the time of application but will be required if offered employment:

BENEFITS

A Benefit Entitlement for health, dental and vision coverage is available for positions that are at least 4 hours per day. The amount of the entitlement is based on the number of hours worked per day.
