Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to satisfactorily pass a background check and an alcohol/drug test.
• Prior experience as Forklift Operator, Dock or Warehouse Worker preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight onto and off equipment.
• Prepare, sweep, inspect and clean trailers before loading.
• Use proper lifting techniques and equipment to move freight.
• Weigh and dimension shipments for classification and safe handling.
• Plan cube utilization and weight distribution when loading.
• Inspect freight for shortages or damage; document findings.
• Review freight bills and manifests for instructions and discrepancies.
• Verify hazardous material paperwork and placarding when applicable.
• Block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.
