Job summary

Sinclair Community College is hiring a part-time Occupational Therapist Assistant adjunct faculty member for face-to-face teaching at the downtown Dayton campus. Courses run morning, afternoon, and evening, with extensive clinical training to prepare students for diverse ages and abilities.

The starting pay is $1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach, with tuition waivers for employees and opportunities for career growth and retirement benefits through STRS.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in OTA or related field required; bachelor's preferred.
• Licensed as Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant in Ohio.
• Prior teaching experience in a community college is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to use educational technology.
• Commitment to improving student learning with innovative strategies.

Responsibilities

• Teach curriculum developed by the department as adjunct faculty.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Prepare syllabi for all assigned sections per policies.
• Employ teaching strategies and instructional technology as appropriate.
• Modify methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote success.
• Evaluate and return student work promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Submit final grade rosters by deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Adjunct cannot teach more than 12 credit hours per semester.
