Job summary

Inova Oakville Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking a Part-Time or PRN Surgical Tech in Alexandria, VA. The role supports orthopedic procedures, requires sterile technique, and involves preop, intraop, and postoperative responsibilities.

Day shift only, with no nights, weekends, or holidays. Qualifications include at least 1 year in OR, Surgical Technology certification preferred, Virginia registration eligibility, and BLS onboarding.

Qualifications

• One year or more progressive OR experience as a Surgical Tech.
• Surgical Technology certification preferred.
• Current Virginia registration or eligibility to practice as Surgical Tech.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room with sterile instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Ensure sterilization and aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Verify functionality of instruments and equipment; arrange for easy access.
• Assist in patient preparation and positioning; ensure surgical site is prepped.
• Pass instruments and supplies to surgeon; assist with specimen handling and counts.
• Maintain sterile field and assist with room turnover and post-procedure cleaning.
