Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience Scrubbing in operating room within last 3 years (2+ years)
• Graduate of approved surgical technologist or military equivalent program
• BLS certification and applicable surgical certifications

Responsibilities

• Assist physician during surgical procedures by performing scrub duties
• Set up and organize room and equipment for upcoming procedures
• Handle instruments, pass instruments, cut sutures, hold retractors, obtain/process tissue samples
• Maintain sterile technique and safety protocols
• Transport patients, equipment, and samples following proper body mechanics
• Maintain patient confidentiality and provide information within scope of competency
• Communicate effectively with team and escalate issues as needed
• Participate in departmental performance improvement activities
