Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center in South Florida is seeking a Part-Time OR Registered Nurse to join our operating room team. The role involves preparing the OR, greeting patients, and monitoring vital status and intraoperative interventions under anesthesia supervision.

The candidate will assess and document surgical status, communicate abnormal findings promptly, and ensure safe medication administration and infection control. CNOR is preferred; Florida RN licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the state of FL; BLS required and CNOR preferred for OR nurses.
• Ambulatory RNs: FL licensure and BLS; CNOR preferred for OR nurses.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the OR suite appropriately to receive a new admission.
• Greets the patient upon arrival and initiates hemodynamic monitoring.
• Evaluates, assesses and documents patient's surgical status.
• Reports abnormal findings to physician and documents pre/post-op counts.
• Assists anesthesia in maintaining intake and output and checks blood products before administering.
• Documents blood administration and ensures accuracy.
• Demonstrates safety measures related to radiation exposure.
• Performs pre-operative and post-operative care and instruction for each surgical patient.
• Adheres to standard precautions including hand hygiene at all times.
• Performs dressing changes using aseptic technique.
