Job summary

Regent Surgical Health is seeking a part-time Operating Room RN in Anchorage, AK to deliver safe intraoperative patient care, monitor vital signs, and support the surgical team. You will prepare patients, verify medications, maintain sterile technique, and ensure the operating room runs smoothly.

Requirements include high school diploma, graduation from an accredited nursing program, RN license for Alaska, and BLS/ACLS/PALS as required. Prior ASC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license in Alaska.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications as required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide intraoperative patient care in procedure rooms and operating rooms.
• Transport patients to and from operating/procedure room.
• Prepare patients for surgery by disinfecting skin and positioning them on the operating table.
• Verify name, strength and dosage of medication.
• Verify patient, procedure, operative site, positioning and equipment.
• Responsible for 'timeout' per site verification policy.
• Maintain sterile technique and monitor for any breach.
• Assist surgeon during procedures by passing equipment and monitoring vitals.
• Ensure operating room runs smoothly and stocked with supplies.
• Develop and implement care plans for surgical patients.
• Communicate with patients and healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
• Apply aseptic techniques to instruments and equipment.
• Provide postoperative instructions and address patient questions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care for team use.
• Clean and disinfect tables, surfaces and equipment between cases.
• Able to problem solve in stressful environments.
