Job summary

Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) seeks part-time instructors to teach the Medical Coding Specialist Technical Diploma Program. Courses may be online or in classroom settings, with evenings or weekends possible.

Successful candidates will reside in Wisconsin and contribute to curriculum development and student mentorship. Responsibilities include advising students, evaluating progress, and helping evaluate program effectiveness while coordinating with department activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Health Information Management, Health Care Informatics, or AS in Health Information Technology with 5 years of experience and supervision in HIM.
• Minimum 2 years full-time or equivalent experience as Medical Coder.
• Current certification in CCS, CCS-P, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver instruction for online and classroom courses.
• Develop curriculum and monitor course effectiveness.
• Advise students and assess performance.
• Participate in program and departmental activities and budgeting.
