Job summary

Northcentral Technical College (NTC) in Wausau, Wisconsin, seeks a full-time Medical Coding Specialist faculty member to teach and develop courses for the program. The role involves delivering high-quality instruction, maintaining course materials, and aligning with program objectives.

The position is on-campus, with responsibilities spanning curriculum development, student mentorship, and collaboration with colleagues to enhance learning outcomes and program success.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate student learning across modalities (in-person, online, hybrid) and mentor students and peers.
• Adhere to academic calendar, teaching assignments, office hours, and conduct classes per contract.
• Assess student performance with timely feedback, maintain records, attendance, and lab/clinical evaluations per FERPA.
• Develop course materials, outlines, PATs, syllabi, and LMS templates within timelines.
• Select learning materials, textbooks, library resources, and equipment.
• Review and revise curriculum to meet academic standards.
• Assist in planning and evaluating new or modified courses.
• Stay current with learner needs and educational trends.
• Provide written evaluations upon request.
• Maintain Medical Coding curriculum aligned with ICD, CPT, HCPCS, and standards including industry changes.
• Integrate coding apps, encoder tech, and coding software into learning.
• Evaluate course sequencing, hours, delivery, and progression; recommend adjustments.
• Provide program-specific academic guidance to students.
• Prepare students for employment and credentials through coding standards.
• Provide interdisciplinary education on coding, documentation, reimbursement, revenue cycle.
• Incorporate AI and emerging tech while maintaining integrity.
• Maintain program documentation per accreditation standards.
• Coordinate with instructional support services to address student accommodations.
