Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Oncology Infusion Center at the David M. Sindelar Cancer Center in St. Louis, MO. This part-time RN role (24 hours/week, days, commute-friendly) focuses on precise infusion administration, patient assessments, and collaborative care in an outpatient setting.

You will support cancer patients through infusion therapies, coordinate with physicians and pharmacists, and maintain safety standards while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current, valid RN license.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients before, during, and after infusion treatments.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, hydration therapy, and other infusion medications.
• Monitor patients for treatment responses and adverse reactions.
• Access and maintain peripheral IVs, ports, and central lines.
• Collaborate with oncologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and support staff to coordinate treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families on medications, side effects, symptom management, and ongoing care needs.
• Review laboratory results and communicate significant findings to the care team.
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses in the electronic health record.
• Maintain oncology treatment safety standards and infection prevention practices.
• Provide compassionate support to patients and families throughout the treatment process.
