Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Oncology Infusion Center at the David M. Sindelar Cancer Center in St. Louis, MO. This part-time position (24 hours/week) offers daytime hours Mon-Fri in a welcoming outpatient setting.

You will administer infusion therapies, monitor responses, educate patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care for oncology patients.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, valid RN license.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients before, during, and after infusion treatments.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and hydration therapy.
• Monitor patients for responses and adverse reactions.
• Access and maintain peripheral IVs, ports, and central lines.
• Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists and staff to coordinate treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families on medications, side effects, and care needs.
• Review laboratory results and communicate significant findings.
• Document assessments and treatments in the electronic health record.
• Maintain oncology treatment safety standards and infection prevention.
• Provide compassionate support to patients and families throughout treatment.
