Job summary

Mercy South is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Oncology Infusion Center at the David M. Sindelar Cancer Center in St. Louis, MO. This part-time role supports chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other infusion therapies in a welcoming outpatient setting.

The Infusion RN will collaborate with an oncology team to monitor patients, manage IV access, educate families, and ensure safety and high-quality care throughout the treatment journey.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients before, during, and after infusion treatments
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, hydration therapy, and other infusion medications
• Monitor patients for treatment responses and adverse reactions
• Access and maintain peripheral IVs, ports, and central lines
• Collaborate with oncologists, APPs, pharmacists, and staff to coordinate treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on medications, side effects, and ongoing care needs
• Review labs and communicate findings to the care team
• Document assessments and treatments in the EHR
• Maintain oncology treatment safety standards and infection prevention
• Provide compassionate support to patients and families throughout the treatment process
