Job summary

Langan is seeking a Part-Time On-Call Staff Environmental Engineer, Scientist, or Geologist to join its collaborative team in Southern California.

This role involves site exploration activities including contaminated site investigation and remediation work; soil and groundwater sampling; vapor intrusion investigation; remedial investigation, design, implementation, and monitoring; pilot tests; data management, processing, and evaluation; and report preparation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• 1+ years of work-related experience.
• EIT Certification or FE exam registration preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections and environmental investigations.
• Perform air, soil, gas, groundwater sampling and remediation of contaminated properties.
• Assist with planning and execution of field investigations by logging borings, collecting samples, performing field tests, and recording data.
• Field oversight of remediation activities and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Identify and implement solutions to routine and complex field and/or laboratory problems; document results and communicate with supervisor.
• Assist with preparation of technical reports, specifications, and plans; data management and evaluation; and environmental assessment and remediation.
• Perform other duties as requested
