Job summary

Ventura County Community College District is seeking an Instructor (Non-Contract/Temporary) to provide comprehensive classroom instruction in nursing. The role supports students from diverse backgrounds and may be employed up to 67% of a full-time assignment under Education Code provisions.

Responsibilities include delivering lectures and labs, advising students, evaluating performance, maintaining records, and selecting instructional materials in collaboration with discipline faculty.

Qualifications

• Master's in nursing OR Bachelor's in nursing AND Master's in health education or health science.
• Equivalent qualifications or the minimum qualifications set by the Board of Registered Nursing, whichever is higher.
• Possession of a valid California Community College Teaching Credential appropriate to the discipline.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses.
• Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study and resources.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes.
• Maintain current records of course enrollment, attendance, progress, and outcomes.
• Evaluate and select instructional materials with discipline faculty.
• Revise and update course content and materials according to new theory and developments.
• Update syllabi and assess learning indicators for each course.
• May participate in curriculum and program development and in department or district meetings.
• May participate in articulation and matriculation activities.
• May provide work direction to others.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
