Job summary

MU Health Care – Children’s Hospital in Columbia, MO is seeking a part-time Care Team Associate in the Maternal Newborn department. The role supports nursing staff with patient care tasks, mobility assistance, and efficient unit operations to enhance care for mothers and newborns.

Shift pattern is 2 twelve-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays; on-site work, 24/7 facility operations, and collaboration with the Women’s Health Services teams ensure high-quality patient

Qualifications

• Enrolled in nursing education program and will complete Fundamentals of Nursing within 90 days.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or CNA exam registration or PCT certification.
• Direct patient care experience in past 3 years as CNA/EMT/surgical tech.
• UAP training program with 100 hours patient care within last 3 years.
• Nursing licensure candidate who faced licensure exam challenges in past 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with transferring patients and delivering meals.
• Organize workload, manage multiple tasks, answer unit telephones, and relay information promptly.
• Educate and train new staff members in Care Team Associate responsibilities.
• Perform duties for routine and emergent situations as directed by nursing staff.
• Position changes, patient hygiene care, glucose checks, venipuncture as needed, and lab specimen handling.
