Job summary

MU Health Care’s Children’s Hospital – 1021 Hitt St, Columbia, MO, is seeking a compassionate RN in Maternal Newborn to influence outcomes for mothers and newborns. This on-site role offers weekend night shifts (7p-7:30a, 3 12s/week) with pay range and shift differentials described below, contributing to a dedicated health-care team.

The department emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and commitment to exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN.
• One (1) year of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient's condition and nursing needs, sets goals, and prescribes appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals and the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative patient needs, including discharge planning.
• Assesses, intervenes, and reassesses the patient's self-report and symptoms of pain promptly.
• Demonstrates an understanding of medications regarding action and side effects. Reports pertinent information to the appropriate individual.
• Educates patients and significant others about their medications.
• Demonstrates the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions in accomplishing goals and intended patient care outcomes.
• Maintain the standards of nursing care and implement the policies and procedures of the hospital and assigned nursing unit.
