Job summary

University of Missouri Health Care's Children’s Hospital – 1021 Hitt St, Columbia, MO, seeks a Care Team Associate to support nurses, assist with patient care, and help with daily tasks in a busy Maternal Newborn setting.

This on-site, full-time role offers day shifts with every other weekend and rotating holidays. Base pay ranges with weekend differential, plus benefits including insurance, paid time off, retirement options, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a professional or practical nursing program and completing required coursework, or
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or CNA exam registration, or
• Certified Patient Care Technician (PCT) certification, or
• Direct patient care experience in past 3 years as nursing assistant/EMT/surgical tech, or
• UAP training program completed within last 3 years with 100 hours of patient care

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff and ancillary staff in transferring patients and delivering meals.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and respond to unit calls and messages promptly.
• Educate and train new staff members on Care Team Associate responsibilities.
• Perform duties as delegated by nursing staff in routine and emergent situations.
• Position patients, adjust equipment, provide basic hygiene care and collect samples as directed.
• Record information accurately in the bed-management system.
• Respond to patient call lights with professional guest relations and document vitals and measurements.
