Job summary

Gofractional is seeking a Fractional Controller / Fiscal Manager to lead accounting operations for a nonprofit organization on a part-time basis. You will own the monthly close, maintain general ledger integrity, and prepare financial statements for leadership and external funders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
• Significant nonprofit accounting experience including grant compliance and specialized reporting.
• 10+ years in accounting/financial management with close, reporting, and audit support.
• Experience designing cost allocation methodologies and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end and year-end close process with a defined close calendar.
• Maintain GL integrity by enforcing journal entry standards and documentation.
• Review reconciliations across bank accounts and resolve exceptions.
• Prepare monthly financial statements: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variance narratives.
• Develop a 13-week cash forecast and variance tracking for liquidity planning.
• Design and maintain cost allocation methodology and allocation engine.
• Strengthen payroll allocation controls and funding alignment.
• Oversee foster-care payment controls and audit readiness.
• Lead audit readiness activities and SEFA/Single Audit documentation.
• Provide reporting and financial insights to leadership and funders.
