Job summary

Covenant Living seeking a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse for a part-time night shift (10:30 pm–6:30 am) at Covenant Living in Geneva Township, Illinois. The role includes direct patient care and supervision of nursing staff, coordinating with the Nurse Manager to maintain high-quality resident care.

The ideal candidate will have an approved LPN/LVN program, active Illinois license, and at least one year of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of licensed practical/vocational nursing.
• Current license in good standing as an LPN/LVN in the State.
• One year nursing experience.
• Devotion to standards and principles of professional nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assist routine daily direction and monitor the work of the nursing assistants on the unit.
• Assist in the orientation of new LPN/LVNs and nursing assistants and reinforce training standards.
• Provide explanation of nursing procedures and assistance to staff.
• Communicate with the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing regarding observations and concerns.
• Observe and evaluate residents' health and communicate significant changes.
• Notify the physician and family according to prescribed procedures.
• Provide direct patient care including procedures such as catheter placement and care.
• Participate in shift handoffs to ensure proper information about residents.
• Assist in admission, orientation, and observation of new residents and relay physician orders.
