Job summary

Cleveland Clinic's Lutheran Hospital Emergency Department is seeking a Paramedic for night shifts. The role involves providing emergency treatment, stabilizing patients, and supporting the RN and physicians in a fast-paced ED environment.

Minimum qualifications include an accredited EMS-Paramedic program, OH EMTP licensure, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, with ITLS preferred. 24 hours per week, nights, with opportunities for growth in a world-class healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic training program.
• Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP) in Ohio.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of start date in the Emergency Department.
• Clinical experience through an EMS Paramedic training program.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency treatment, including advanced life support, to patients in emergencies.
• Assess the urgent medical needs of patients and stabilize their conditions.
• Work under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to assist in patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Obtain and record vital signs and perform EKGs, CPR, phlebotomy, and suctioning.
• Initiate cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy and saline locks.
• Notify the RN and/or physician of rhythm changes.
• Assist with orthopaedic appliances, splints, and crutch walking.
• Assist with equipment setup and sterile procedures; maintain supplies and equipment.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and privacy; administer fluids and medications as ordered.
