Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital is seeking a Paramedic for the Emergency Department, PRN, to join a team delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced setting. You will perform essential emergency procedures, monitor patients, and collaborate with Registered Nurses and physicians to stabilize conditions.

Role requires EMS-Paramedic training, Ohio EMTP licensure, and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications; ITLS preferred. Shifts vary; patient care remains the focus in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic training program.
• Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP) in Ohio.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• PALS certification required upon hire or within one year of start date.
• Clinical EMS Paramedic experience through training program.

Responsibilities

• Provide duties that assist in patient care in the Emergency Department under RN supervision.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, CPR, phlebotomy and airway suctioning.
• Initiate cardiac monitoring and oxygen therapy.
• Notify RN/physician of rhythm changes and patient status.
• Apply orthopaedic appliances and simple splints.
• Assist with crutch fitting and walking training.
• Support equipment setup and sterile procedures; maintain supplies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
• Administer fluids/medications as ordered.
