Job summary

Hearing Screening Associates is seeking a part-time Newborn Hearing Screening Technician for the NICU at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, MO. You will conduct newborn hearing screenings, educate parents, and record results prior to discharge, supporting newborn care goals.

The role offers weekend work, daytime shifts, training provided, and a steady schedule for 8-16 hours per week at $16.50/hour with a $1 weekend differential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One or more years of healthcare or childcare training/experience, or related college curriculum is a plus.
• Possess basic computer skills.
• Ability to function independently in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Ability to attend all company provided training.
• Willingness and ability to learn and operate hearing screening equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct newborn hearing screenings on all infants in the well baby and NICU units, prior to discharge from the hospital; coordinate post-discharge follow up care as needed.
• Work directly with nursing staff, patients, and parents to communicate relevance of hearing screening and early identification to support positive outcome.
• Analyze and communicate responses to problem situations in a manner consistent with the company and customer’s needs.
• Maintain and use hearing screening equipment; assist with database management.
• Interact with various hospital departments; perform duties per policies and procedures of HSA, hospitals, and departments.
• Uphold the code of conduct and compliance policies.
• After training, have thorough knowledge of procedural variables and instrumentation in the application of otoacoustic emissions and ABR technology.
• All other duties as assigned.
