Job summary

Oakland County is seeking a Parks Worker to support Independence Oaks and Orion Oaks with maintenance, guest services, and park operations. This role involves outdoor work, equipment operation, and assisting higher-level staff to ensure clean, safe, and welcoming park facilities for the public.

Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position is limited to 1,000 hours per year, reflecting a seasonal/part-time schedule in a public park setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old with a high school diploma or GED (or 18+).
• Valid US driver’s license required; MI license if driving in MI.
• Pass the department’s employment examination and medical as required.

Responsibilities

• Answer guest inquiries and provide directions within the park.
• Keep work areas clean and merchandise stocked and presentable.
• Perform customer service duties and basic office tasks; operate POS as needed.
