Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of directly related experience.
• Associate degree and six years of directly related experience.
• A valid California Community College credential.
• The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).
• Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of diverse student backgrounds.
• Desirable: ability to use current educational technology.
• Desirable: experience with computer-assisted instruction and instructional technologies.
• Desirable: ability to communicate effectively and maintain relationships with students and staff.
• Desirable: develop new curriculum focused on student learning outcomes.
• Desirable: experience with diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Teaching Introduction to Forestry, Dendrology, Silviculture, Wildlife Ecology and Conservation of Natural Resources.
• Teaching additional classes in Mule Packing, Backcountry Backpacking, Forestry Field Studies and Work Experience.
• Using a variety of pedagogies and technology for face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats.
• Communicating effectively with students.
• Maintaining course syllabi and standards of record keeping.
• Evaluating student progress through tests, assignments, and exams.
• Submitting student grading and evaluation reports in a timely manner.
• Fulfilling duties and responsibilities per Administrative Regulation 7122.
