Qualifications

• Master’s in geology (or related earth science field) as required.
• Bachelor’s in geology and master’s in geography, physics, or geochemistry may satisfy equivalency.
• A valid California Community College Credential or equivalent.
• The equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide geology instruction in diverse settings, including evenings, weekends, online or hybrid formats.
• Maintain professional standards and current teaching in geology and related courses.
• Teach physical/historical geology, oceanography, earth science, and environmental science.
• Develop and use technology for engaging classroom presentations and online delivery.
• Evaluate student progress and provide timely grading and feedback.
• Prepare and provide course syllabi and maintain records per policy.
