Job summary

OU Health in Yukon, OK is seeking a PT Midshift Paramedic to support the Emergency Department with patient assessment, monitoring, and bedside care under supervision. The role requires paramedic licensure and current certifications, including BLS, PALS, and ACLS within specified timelines.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality emergency care, perform injections, venipunctures, IV/IO access, and vital monitoring while maintaining patient safety and documentation

Qualifications

• Paramedic Training Program required.
• 2 years of hospital and/or pre-hospital experience providing immediate stabilization and transport of sick and injured patients required.
• Paramedic License issued by the State of Oklahoma required.
• Paramedic Certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 3 months.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Provides care in accordance with OU Health policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with patient, family, and healthcare team on treatment plans.
• Maintains communication with attending physician and licensed nurse.
• Observes and reports patient signs or symptoms.
• Contributes information to plan of care; documents care delivered.
• Provides patient safety and maintains competence with charting.
• Assists with IV/IO access and monitoring; performs 12-lead EKGs.
• Receives patients from EMS and prepares for physician care.
• Collects routine laboratory specimens; performs basic lab procedures.
• Administers medications per scope and hospital policy.
