Job summary

OU Health in Yukon Emergency Department is seeking a PRN Evening Lab Tech - Medic to support emergency patients under supervision. You will collect information, assist with procedures, and participate in patient care under the physician and licensed nurse guidance.

The role emphasizes collaboration, accurate charting, vital signs, IV/IO access, venipuncture, basic lab procedures, and safe medication administration within licensure. PRN status implies flexible hours and on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Paramedic training program completed and credentialed.
• Minimum two years hospital and/or pre-hospital experience.
• Current Oklahoma paramedic license and NREMT certification.
• BLS, PALS, ACLS required within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Provides care per OU Health policies and procedures.
• Collaborates on treatment plans with patient/family and healthcare team.
• Maintains clear communication with attending physician and nurse.
• Takes vital signs and monitors patient status.
• Collects lab specimens and performs basic lab procedures.
• Establishes IV/IO lines and performs venipuncture.
• Administers medications under physician direction.
