The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent and 1–3 years' related experience, with ASCP/AMT/HEW eligibility.

Qualifikationen

• 1–3 years directly related experience.
• ASCP, AMT, HEW or eligible; must obtain within 1 year of DOH.

Aufgaben

• Performs qualitative and quantitative tests using automated instrumentation or manual methods per established procedures.
• Performs established quality assurance procedures (quality control testing, instrument function checks and calibrations); maintains documentation; investigates deviations from expected performance.
• Assesses accuracy and validity of test results by applying relevant scientific principles and recognizing changes critical to patient care.
• Maintains records of tests and final results for all record functions and inquiries related to patient care.
• Troubleshoots instruments and resolves technical problems; reports to supervisor as appropriate.
• May assist in instructing students and laboratory personnel in diagnostic tests and examinations; performs phlebotomy per protocols.
• Performs order entry and specimen receipt; provides customer service to all laboratory customers.
