Job summary

Alter Behavioral Health is seeking a Part-Time Care Coordinator (Mental Health Technician) to help ensure client safety and recovery in our Orange County residential facilities.

You will conduct safety checks, provide supportive engagement, and assist with group activities while coordinating with clinicians and staff. A driven candidate with a background in behavioral health is preferred, with CPR/First Aid and Live Scan clearance required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 1+ year experience in behavioral health or related field.
• Valid California Driver’s License.
• CPR & First Aid certification required (or ability to obtain).
• Live Scan fingerprint clearance required.
• Ability to work morning and/or overnight shifts with reliability.

Responsibilities

• Client Safety & Monitoring: conduct routine safety checks every 15/30/60 minutes.
• Escort clients to activities, appointments or outings as needed.
• Provide supportive presence and engagement aligned with treatment goals.
• Facilitate or assist with group activities as appropriate.
• Assist with housekeeping to maintain a safe environment.
• Document client behaviors in EMR and communicate with clinical staff.
• Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and supervisors; crisis intervention as needed.
