Job summary

EVELYN RUBENSTEIN JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER OF HOUSTON TEXAS is seeking a part-time Member Services Associate to provide exceptional customer service to members, guests, and program participants.

Responsibilities include handling membership intake, promoting memberships, registering for programs, and maintaining up-to-date program information across departments. The role requires 20–25 hours weekly, with typical hours Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in customer service preferred or in a related field.
• Excellent communication skills: ability to interact professionally with all levels of internal and external personnel.
• Able to work nights and weekends.
• Deadline/task oriented – sense of urgency.
• High energy, proactive, requiring little direction, takes responsibility.
• Team oriented.
• Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain an enthusiastic and professional demeanor while effectively and tactfully dealing with member and guest complaints and concerns.
• Willingness to perform job tasks not part of immediate job responsibilities but aides in member satisfaction and getting the job done.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Provide essential customer service to ensure member satisfaction and member appreciation.
• Greet all members and guests upon arrival and departure and ensure proper check-in procedures.
• Promote programs and events and provide information across departments.
• Communicate member concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Explain membership structure, benefits, fees and policies; conduct facility tours for prospective members.
• On-board new members and input data into Salesforce; handle payment collection and card printing.
• Process point-of-sale and registrations for all areas by phone or in person.
• Assist members with Brivo credentials and ensure proper operation.
• Use Traction Guest to sign in guests for meetings, tours and events at the J.
