Job summary

Lacamas Creek Post Acute is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. You will maintain resident medical records and ensure HIPAA compliance while supporting admissions, transfers, and audits.

The role requires strong organization, accurate record-keeping, and excellent communication with residents, families, and healthcare staff. Proficiency with computer systems and EHR software is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous medical records or healthcare administrative experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and medical records procedures preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with computers and electronic health record systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize resident medical records in both electronic and paper formats.
• Ensure medical records are complete, accurate, and up to date.
• Process admissions, discharges, and transfers related to medical records.
• File, scan, and retrieve documents as needed.
• Protect resident confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Assist with medical record audits and regulatory compliance.
• Respond to requests for medical records in accordance with facility policies.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare providers, and staff.
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
