Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center invites you to join its Specimen Processing team as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in a part-time role. You will support testing and laboratory processes to drive timely, accurate patient results within a world-class cancer center.

You’ll perform testing, troubleshoot equipment, validate new methods, assist with Call Center duties, and mentor students and staff.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology, or a related Bachelor's degree.
• NAACLS-accredited Clinical Laboratory Science/ Molecular Genetic Technology program completion preferred.
• Part-time, non-exempt position with schedule Friday 4:30pm–9pm and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory testing specific to the assigned section and ensures quality data.
• Handles Call Center duties, sharing results and specimen information with healthcare providers.
• Mentors students and staff, supports process improvements and quality programs.
