Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related discipline required.
• ASCP or equivalent certification required; must pass within 18 months if not yet certified.
• Ability to read, speak and write English effectively.
• Preferred: at least one year experience as Medical Laboratory Technician with above average performance.

Responsibilities

• Collect appropriate specimen samples as required.
• Ensure specimen identification is accurate when aliquoting specimens and resulting tests.
• Demonstrates competency in performance of analytical laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other body fluids or specimens according to laboratory policy.
• Evaluates test results in light of the patient’s clinical condition and analytical testing conditions according to laboratory policy.
