Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology required; ASCP or equivalent certification within 18 months.
• Ability to read, speak and write English effectively.
• Preferred: at least one year of experience as Medical Laboratory Technician.

Responsibilities

• Collect and prepare specimens as required.
• Ensure specimen identification is accurate during aliquoting and testing.
• Demonstrate competency in analytical laboratory tests on blood, urine, and body fluids.
• Evaluate test results in light of clinical and analytical conditions.

• Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related discipline required. Registry or Certification by professional organization such as the ASCP or equivalent is required. Continuation of employment is contingent on passing of ASCP or equivalent within 18 months of hire.
• Ability to read, speak and write English effectively.

Related Experience

Preferred:

• At least one year experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician with above average performance.

What you will do

• Collect appropriate specimen samples as required.
• Ensure specimen identification is accurate when aliquoting specimens and resulting tests.

• Evaluates test results in light of the patient’s clinical condition and analytical testing conditions according to laboratory policy.
