Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with three years of recent experience in medical coding or teaching.
• AHIMA or AAPC certification such as CPA, CCS, CPC, or comparable certification.
• Preferred ICD-10 training and AHIMA CCS/CCA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Teaches Medical Coding courses at various times and locations.
• Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and real‑world application.
• Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
• Prepares a course syllabus and develops lesson plans following guidelines.
• Meets with and advises students before/after class or by appointment.
• Conducts evaluations to measure progress and informs students of outcomes.
• Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
• Attends meetings, trainings, orientations, and responds to communications promptly.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
