Lone Star College System is seeking an adjunct Medical Coding faculty member to teach courses at various campuses in the Houston area. The role supports a part-time schedule with evening and weekend classes as needed, advancing student learning and success.

The instructor will develop syllabi, deliver engaging lessons, and assess student progress while adhering to college guidelines and quality standards. Candidates must have AHIMA/AAPC credentials and relevant coding experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; three years of recent experience in medical coding or teaching.
• Current AHIMA or AAPC coding certification (e.g., CCS, CPC).
• Ability to teach adjunct courses at multiple campuses and times.

Responsibilities

• Teaches Medical Coding courses at a variety of times and locations.
• Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and real-world application.
• Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner; maintains course materials.
• Advises students with office hours and electronic communication; participates in assessments.
