The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work with providers, patients, and insurers to ensure accurate claims and timely payments. You will post charges, follow up on denials, process payments, perform monthly reconciliations, and support the Customer Service Representatives.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of Medical Billing Experience preferred.
• Experience with HMOs, PPOs, Medicare and Medicaid preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to utilize own transportation for work purposes.

Responsibilities

• Posts charges for all providers and ensures they are posted with appropriate modifiers and codes.
• Sends claims to insurance or third party payers and works edits/rejections to ensure payment.
• Posts payments from insurance and patients and reconciles with bank statements.
• Works denied claims and sends appeals to capture revenue.
• Performs claim follow-up to ensure timely payer processing and AR within normal range.
• Conducts charge reconciliation at month end.
• Performs payment audits to ensure rates match payer contracts.
• Answers calls from patients regarding billing and insurance questions.
• Collects delinquent accounts by setting up payment arrangements.
