Job summary

American Family Care is seeking Part-Time Medical Assistants to keep our urgent care centers running smoothly by blending clinical skills with patient registration and insurance verification. In this role, you will be committed to working 1 - 3 shifts per week for a total of 10 to 20 hours/week.

You will perform venipuncture, CLIA-waived testing, EKGs, wound care, and nebulizer therapy, while supporting front desk tasks and HIPAA-compliant procedures.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Active national MA certification at hire (CMA/RMA/CCMA or equivalent).
• BLS certification required or obtained during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Greet and triage patients, collect vitals and histories, venipuncture, and basic testing.
• Register patients, verify insurance, determine financial responsibility, and collect co-pays.
• Educate patients on procedures and financial expectations; ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Support infection control, daily huddles, and maintain compliance logs.
