Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group in Michigan is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering patient-centered care. You will work directly with patients, assist with exams, testing, and specimen collection, and help coordinate care and communication between patients and clinicians.

Qualifications

• 0–1 year clinical experience, or 2+ years with alternative training.
• Completion of an MA program and externship/internship.
• EMT or Paramedic training and CPR certification.
• Credentialed MA certifications (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, CMAC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
• Performs additional duties such as test tracking, managing tasks, gap in care, supply, medication ordering, surgery scheduling.
