Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering patient care. You will welcome patients, document histories, assist with exams, testing, specimen collection, administer medications, and communicate results and instructions.

You'll work in a team-focused setting with opportunities for professional growth and a commitment to quality improvement and patient education within Southeast Michigan.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• MA program and externship; MA internship; EMT/Paramedic; or Athletic Trainer certification.
• If credentialed, maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.
• MA-Non-Credentialed I: MA eligibility desired; EMT/Paramedic licensure in MI.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
