Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) to support providers in delivering patient care. You will welcome patients, assist with exams, collect histories and vitals, and coordinate care to enhance outcomes.

Role requires MA program/externship or equivalent; EMT/Paramedic credentials or CMA/RMA/NCMA/CMA certifications are considered. Michigan licensure and CPR are required. Day-one benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• 0–1 year of previous clinical experience or equivalent education; if no MA program, 2+ years of clinical support in a community clinic.
• Current/active CPR certification.
• MA eligibility to attain Medical Assistant Certification or EMT with MI license or Paramedic with NR/MI license.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
