Job summary

Advocate Health's Cedartown Immediate Care is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support patient flow and clinical tasks. The role involves rooming patients, taking vitals, documenting history, and assisting with procedures under provider supervision.

The ideal candidate will perform venipuncture and waived CLIA lab tests, help with vaccines, and handle scheduling and referrals, while maintaining a clean, compliant clinical space.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• CPR/BLS certification and ability to perform patient care within MA scope.
• Experience with EMR and clinical procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to medical assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vitals, history, health maintenance, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures and performs CLS/venipuncture and POCT testing.
• Administers medications and vaccines per safety protocols and right-dose checks.
• Manages appointments, insurance authorizations, referrals, and communication.
