Job summary

Atrium Health Floyd seeks a part-time Medical Assistant for the Cedartown Immediate Care location. This role supports patient flow, rooming, vital signs, labs, vaccines, and coordination of care under physician supervision.

Responsibilities include medication administration, lab duties, and maintaining a clean, compliant environment while delivering compassionate patient care. Requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; BLS is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training in lieu.
• 2 years verifiable full-time MA experience within last 5 years (where applicable).
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies and procedures.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vitals, history, medications, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, CLIA waivers.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Maintains clean work environment and properly stocked areas.
• Communicates effectively with patients and team; escalates when needed.
• Age-appropriate patient care per department standards.
