Job summary

Mathnasium of Niskayuna, operated by Capital Region Math, is seeking a Lead Instructor to join our team as a shift leader. This role combines teaching across K-12 math with leadership duties to support instructors and ensure productive sessions.

The position emphasizes strong math knowledge, reliability, and effective coaching, with part-time hours in the late afternoons and Saturdays at our Niskayuna center.

Qualifications

• Strong command of K-12 math, including advanced high school topics such as calculus.
• Experience in teaching, tutoring, Mathnasium, or instructional leadership is preferred.
• Clear verbal communication and ability to coach instructors in real time.
• Able to manage multiple students and keep sessions organized.
• Bachelor’s degree or in progress in a related field is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach students across K-12 math levels using the Mathnasium Method while modeling strong instructional habits.
• Manage student flow, seating, pacing, and transitions so sessions run smoothly.
• Serve as the first point of support for instructors during shift and provide on-the-spot coaching.
• Monitor student progress and learning plans; flag concerns to center leadership.
• Maintain positive interactions with students and families and create a welcoming environment.
• Support center operations, materials prep, organization, cleaning, and shift task completion.
