Job summary

Washington Radiology in Arlington, VA is seeking a Mammography Technologist to provide high-quality breast imaging services. This 20-hour/week position offers a supportive team and a patient-focused environment, with compensation ranging from $45 to $55 per hour commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities include preparing for procedures, assisting radiologists with biopsies, producing high-quality images, educating patients about breast health, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for and assist radiologist with mammography exams and breast biopsies.

• Maintain accurate documentation and patient privacy at all times.
• Collaborate with technicians and physicians to ensure smooth workflow.

Here Is What You Will Need

• Current ARRT in Mammography certification or eligible to take advanced level exam with documentation of clinical experience.
• Completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic Technology
• Continuing Education: MQSA/FDA- 15 CEU’s every 3 years, 200-documented case numbers every 2 years.
• Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred.
• Licenses to practice radiography in Virginia

A Day In The Life Of a Mammography Technologist

• Provide services and support for the following areas:
  • Prepares for and assists the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies.
  • Produce high-quality films for the radiologist to evaluate.
  • Effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health.
  • Maintain patient-first focus at all times and exhibit outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees.
  • Consistently practice excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique.
  • Complete appropriate documentation.
  • Perform quality control functions related to mammography.
  • Assist in the compilation and maintenance of statistical data.
  • Promote privacy and comfort for the patient.
