Job summary

Washington Radiology seeks a Float Mammography Technologist to deliver screening and diagnostic mammograms across multiple centers in DC, MD, and Northern VA. The role requires ARRT registry, completion of a two-year radiologic technology program, and CPR/BLS certification.

You will work full-time, Monday–Friday, with compensation including a float differential and travel stipend. The position offers relocation assistance for qualified technologists and a sign-on bonus up to $15,000.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification.
  • Valid state radiology licensure as required by state law.
  • Knowledge of eRad and Sectra RIS/PACS software is preferred.
  • Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services and support for multiple centers, delivering efficient, comfortable screening experiences.
  • Communicate procedures clearly to patients and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health.
  • Coordinate with doctors, patients, and staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain safety and radiation protection measures during examinations and assist Radiologist with complex scans.

Work Location: Washington Radiology centers in DC, MD, and Northern VA

Hours: Full Time, Monday through Friday

Hourly Rate: $45.00 to $55.00 commensurate with experience + float differential

Here Is What You Will Need
  • Education: Completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic Technology

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology
A Day in the Life of a Mammographer
  • Provide services and support for the following areas:
    • Understands, promotes and demonstrates the Solis Way
    • Ability to effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health
    • Ability to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes complicated, written or oral instructions
    • Must maintain patient-first focus at all times and exhibit outstanding customer service skills; Consistently practice excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique; Performs other work-related duties as assigned
    • The Mammography Technologist is expected to practice safe procedures and adheres to radiation safety measures under the supervision of the Radiology supervisor or the Radiologist. Specific duties may include but are not limited to:
    • Complete patient education regarding the exam
    • Perform diagnostic or screening mammogram as ordered
    • Prepare for and assist the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies
