Job summary

Washington Radiology seeks a Mammography Technologist to provide high-quality breast imaging services in a patient-focused environment. You will assist radiologists, perform mammography exams, and ensure accurate image quality and documentation.

The role requires ARRT Mammography certification or eligibility, completion of a two-year radiologic technology program, and MD/VA licensure as applicable. Relocation assistance is available for qualified technologists.

Qualifications

• ARRT Mammography certification or eligibility with documented clinical experience.
• Completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• MQSA/FDA CEU requirements: 15 CEUs every 3 years; 200 documented cases every 2 years.
• MD and VA state licensure where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with mammography exams and related breast procedures.
• Produce high quality images and communicate procedures clearly to patients.
• Support radiologists during complex imaging and biopsies.
• Maintain patient privacy and accurate documentation.

Work Locations: Chevy Chase, Maryland

Work Hours: Full Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Hourly Rate: $38.00 to $49.00 commensurate with experience

Here Is What You Will Need

• Current ARRT in Mammography certification or eligible to take advanced level exam with documentation of clinical experience.
• Completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic Technology
• Continuing Education: MQSA/FDA- 15 CEU’s every 3 years, 200-documented case numbers every 2 years.
• Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred.
• State Required License for MD and VA locations

A Day In The Life Of a Mammography Technologist

• Provide services and support for the following areas:
  • Prepares for and assists the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies.
  • Produce high-quality films for the radiologist to evaluate.
  • Effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health.
  • Maintain patient-first focus at all times and exhibit outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees.
  • Consistently practice excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique.
  • Complete appropriate documentation.
  • Perform quality control functions related to mammography.
  • Assist in the compilation and maintenance of statistical data.
  • Promote privacy and comfort for the patient.
